Vrbnik is one of the most picturesque places on the island of Krk. This beautiful little town is located on the east side of the island Krk, on a rock that rises 50 m above sea level.

Vrbnik is also one of the oldest places on the island that preserves the autochthonous Croatian cultural heritage the angular Glagolitic alphabet.
The Kvarner area was a source of Glagolitic literacy. Old manuscripts have been preserved in the Vrbnik church and the Vitezić library. Stone fragments and inscriptions can also be seen on the streets of the old part of the city.

White wine from the noble grape variety Žlahtina from Vrbnik is one of the highest quality wine products in Croatia, and it is known far beyond domestic borders. In the Vrbnik field, on a little more than 100 hectares, over 120 wagons of žlahtina grapes are produced annually, processed into the famous dry white wine, sparkling wine & distillates.
